For my project I am setting up a vgm review blog, which will also act like a website as it’ll have a theme, artwork and I’m buying the domain name, etc.
Along with the blog I am doing some lectures at my college on composers and their work on a series, e.g Lecture one is about Koji Kondo - Super Mario/The Legend of Zelda.
At the end I’ll also include other works he’s done.
The last one I’m doing is on Nobuo Uematsu and his work on Final Fantasy. The reason I’m doing it last as well, you have to save the best for last and then I can include the photo of me with him at Distant Worlds!
And also include a bit of information about that.
The blog will be hosting the lectures, so it’ll all be one entity.
www.nottellingyouthenameyet.com presents…
You get the idea.
The final outcome will be a lunch time concert featuring a live band playing video-game music covers. (I’ve already got the piano player and drummer, woo!)
And then, the concert will end with two ballads, hopefully my vocal tutor performing Melodies of Life from FFIX and me performing Snake Eater from MGS3.
I plan to finish my Eva cosplay for AyaCon early so I can be Eva while hosting/performing at this concert!
And I’ll carry on with my blog afterwards!
For my first project meeting my tutor said that I could easily carry this into my Hons and get funding and turn it into a business.
I will be heavily advertising the blog, lectures and concert via flyers, online events, here, on the twitter page I’m making in con-junction with the blog and hopefully in universities in Edinburgh around where the gaming students are!
I’ll be contacting the right people so I can definitely put flyers up, etc!
I’m making the slideshow for my pitch right now and got so excited as I’m using sprites of Terra from FFVI, and on the first slide it’s animated so she’s there waving!
Each lecture slideshow will be themed like that! :D
I cannot wait!
Edit: Did I also mention OCRemix were interested in my project?
My plan is to send them an invite to my lectures and concert and get them to check out my website!
